El Espartano

Silent Reading Party at Malba

The MALBA museum was converted into a cozy living room with cushions, sofas and carpets from El Espartano for the fifth edition of its silent reading parties.

On last March 13, the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA) said farewell to Summer with the fifth edition of its silent reading parties behind closed doors, admission free. These Silent Reading Parties, a popular event in cities such as Seattle, San Francisco and New York, invite readers to enjoy a few hours of reading in the company of others without the distraction of our cell phones and laptops.

At 6 pm, the central hall of the Museum became a large living room, with cushions and sofas so that anyone with a book at hand could sit down with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee while listening to live background music. For this edition, El Espartano provided its Hera Minka collection carpets in order to decorate these comfortable reading spaces. The carpets are woven with the sophisticate Axminster looms and have symmetrical and simple hexagonal and sprigs designs in harmony with the museum’s aesthetics.
